The
Lessons
Lessons are generally held once a week for one hour, with
feesbased on the number of tutees sharing a lesson. I offer 1:1 tuition at my home in Didsbury,
and small group sessions can be arranged upon request.
Following a
thorough initial assessment, lessons are tailored to individual needs
and learning style, with clear and achievable goals. My tutees thrive
due to my engaging teaching style, enjoyable lessons, and multi-sensory
approach. I draw upon an extensive bank of learning resources—many of
which I have personally developed—to support all areas of learning and
accommodate a wide range of needs.
Availability
Term-time hours are generally Tuesdays to Thursdays until 7 p.m.,
with a limited number of sessions during school holidays.

about current availability, please visit my contact pageHERE

I am usually
fully booked for after-school sessions and operate a waiting list. If no slot is
available when you enquire, I will notify you as soon as a space becomes
available.

I hold an
up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate, available to view on request, along with
my professional qualifications.
With an extensive
bank of differentiated learning resources and entrance exam papers for
leading grammar schools, I provide highly targeted support to help
students excel.
My success rate in securing grammar school places is exceptional, and
many families stay with me for several years, often with multiple
siblings. Most of my tutees come to me through word of mouth.
Adult Tuition
My adult tutees come to me for a range
of reasons: to improve English for work, support their children’s
learning, or develop their own skills. Some require ESOL (English for
Speakers of Other Languages) tuition, while others need Basic Literacy
support if they missed parts of their early education.
I also assist adults with dissertations
and vocational courses, offering guidance with planning, research,
grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and Harvard referencing.
Homework
I maintain high
expectations for both my tutees and myself. Homework is an essential
part of each lesson, reinforcing learning, providing structured
practice, and allowing me to assess progress to plan future lessons
effectively.
The amount of
homework is agreed at the start, taking into account age and other
commitments. Consistent completion of homework is key to achieving
faster and more substantial progress.
