The
Lessons
Lessons are generally once a week for an hour, with
feesbased on the number of tutees sharing a lesson. I offer tailored 1:1 tuition at my home in Didsbury, though group sessions
can also be arranged.
After a thorough
assessment, lessons are customized to individual needs and learning
styles, with clear,
achievable goals. My tutees thrive due to my engaging teaching style,
fun lessons, and a multi-sensory approach. I draw from my extensive bank
of learning resources, many of which I have personally designed to
support all areas of learning and accommodate individual needs.
Availability
During term-time, I generally tutor Tuesdays to Thursdays until 7 p.m.,
and limit sessions during school holidays.

I hold an
up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate, available upon request, along with
my professional qualifications.
With an extensive
bank of differentiated learning resources and entrance exam papers for
leading grammar schools, I provide targeted support to help students
excel. My success rate in securing grammar school places is exceptional,
and many families choose to work with me for multiple siblings over the
years. Most of my tutees are referred through word of mouth.
Adult Tuition
My adult tutees aim
to improve their English for various reasons: enhancing work-related
skills, supporting their children's literacy, or brushing up on their
own abilities. Some require ESOL (English for Speakers of Other
Languages) tuition, while others, having missed much of their early
education, need Basic Literacy support.
I also assist
individuals with dyslexia by helping them develop strategies to overcome
learning barriers. Additionally, I support tutees working on
dissertations and vocational courses, focusing on planning, research,
grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and Harvard referencing.
Homework
I hold high
expectations for both my tutees and myself. Homework is an integral part
of my lessons, reinforcing learning, providing valuable practice, and
helping me assess each tutee’s understanding to guide future lesson
planning.
The amount of homework will be agreed
upon at the start, considering the tutee’s age and other commitments.
Naturally, completing more homework leads to faster progress.
